English Flier: Philly Tentative Agreement

WE STOOD UP TO PHILLY’S REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY – AND WE WON!

Across the country, employers have cut pay and benefits and attacked workers’ rights. We did not let that happen here. Employers tried to divide us by insisting that building engineers be allowed to cross our picket lines if we’d had to strike: We fought that back and stayed together.

By standing strong, we defended some of the last good service-sector jobs in our city.

LAST NIGHT, WE WON A NEW 4-YEAR AGREEMENT THAT INCLUDES:

  • $600 bonus in the 1st year, 2% pay raise in 2nd year, 2% pay raise in the third year, 2.75% in the 4th year.
  • Employer payments to keep our high-quality health care secure and our premiums 100% employer paid.
  • Protections to put a stop to employers unfairly cutting our hours.
  • A 401(K) for all workers (except supplemental employees) up to 40 hours per week.
  • Guaranteed holiday pay for 32BJ members on disability.
  • Pro-rated vacation pay for 32BJ members who retire during the year.
  • Job protection for members unfairly affected by a background check.
